Vermi-compost workshop at Sunfield May 4th • 27 in attendance • Additional 8 bins were distributed to community gardens in Coyle, Quilcene, Port Hadlock and Port Townsend • Total of 120 residential size bins distributed. 1 commercial size bin installed at Sunfield and a 2nd to be installed at the school garden in Quilcene in the Fall. 2. Ecology CPG Grants • Amendment to Agreement G1200268 providing an additional $131,563 in State funds for period Jan 2012 – June 2013. Additional funds came from unspent Coordinated Prevention Grant Fund. Thanks to Ecology staff for thinking of Jefferson County when looking for worthy areas to allocate unspent grant funds. 3. 2013-2015 Grant Cycle: Public Works has earmarked another $95,000 of these grant funds for Public Health’s continuing Solid Waste Education program and will apply the remaining $73,536 to the Recycling program. 4. SW Facilities Equipment purchase • Forklift contract award will be made in May • Researching sources for Yard Tractor 5. Proposed SW Fees reviewed by Public Health, City and Port of Port Townsend staffs (SWAC Agenda item for the May meeting) 6. Revision to Revenue Handling Policy/Procedure Manual in final County review 7. Revision to MRW Operations Plan in final Public Works review 8. Al Cairns resignation from County Public Works
