STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Each year, DCD staff proviiii thousands of hours of customer service to the public without charge
(approximately 5,000 hours In 2012). At the same time, DCD struggles m obtain sufficient revenue to
support its opemtions. To help support the staff resources needed m provide customer smite, DCD
Frogmen to begin charging fees for certain services where no fees are charged at present TM1eproposed
new fees arc intended to help DCD re-cover the cost of the stafftime necessary to provide customer
scrvice. The public hearing is proposed m be conducted on November 12, 2013. A notice for this
proposed public hearing isplannedm be published on(snober30,2013. An Agenda Request for this
topic for the November 12, 2013 Board agenda will have more information as well asthe proposed new

RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize publication of the atowhcd public hearing notice on proposed amendmenesto the Jefferson
