HEARING NOTICE re: Emergency Supplemental 2013 Budget AppropnatioNExtmsion
for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office; Hearing Scheduled for Monday, battery 6, 2014 at
11:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The Prosecuting Attorney's office has requested an emergency appropdatioNextension to their 2013 Burger. Per
RCW 36.40.140, the Hound of County Commissioners must hold a public hearing regarding me proposed budget
changes.
ANALYSIS:
These budget changes are intended to address necessary expenditures of the requesting department, including
wages paid for Special Deputy Prosecuting Attorney services for the Pierce Trial.
FISCAL IMPACT:
See attached department Pond request.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the resolution scheduling a bearing on the emergency supplemental 2013 budget
appropriatioNextenaion.

WHEREAS, the let&rson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office bas made request fora supplemented budget
appropriationlexention for their 2013 budget, and
WHEREAS, Me increased spending in such requests are funded by additional ounces which were not
anticipated at Use time of preparing said budgets, and such sources include unanticipated revenuereceived from fees,
or Fonts from the Stare and Federal government or proceeds from the sale of bonds, or budgetad but unexpended
monies firm me prior budget year, and
WHEREAS, it sigmas to the Board of County Commissioners that a need and emergency exists that was not
Firemen or contemplated at the time ofpreparing the budgets for 2014. The following identified expenditure amount
E to be added m the Prosecuting Attorney's Office Fund. ExpeMlhue amounts in excess of revenues shell be
appropriated from the unencumbered balances and represent an extension of the Fund budgets listed :

hearing be held in the County Commissioners Chambers, Committee, Port Townsend War aDidon, on the 6th day of
January, 2014, at the hour of 11:00 A.M., and that notice of said hearing be published in the official newspaper of
Jefferson County, and that at mid hearing any Deereatw Repeater may appear and he heard for or against the
