Subject: Supplemental Agreement for Consultant Services with Sargent
Engineers, Inc. for Upper Hoh Road Culvert Replacements, Federal
Aid No. PLH- A160(001), County Project No. CR1896
Statement of Issue: Public Works staff requests a modification to the agreement
with Sargent Engineers, Inc. to extend the time for completion from June 30, 2014 to
December 31, 2016.
Analysis /Strategic Goals /Pro's Et Con's: This supplement to the agreement between
Jefferson County and Sargent Engineers, Inc. is for extending the time for completion
to December 31, 2016. Consultant tasks associated with project pert'y??-�itting will not be
completed by the current contract completion date of June 30, 201`. In addition, the
construction phases of the planned culvert replacements will extend into 2016 and
will require construction support services from the consultant, to be addressed in a
subsequent contract supplement.
Fiscal Impact /Cost Benefit Analysis: This supplement is only a time extension. The
maximum amount payable will remain at the current amount of $398,925.00. This
project is 100 percent funded by the Federal Highway Administration.
Recommendation: The Board is requested to sign all three originals of the
Supplemental Agreement with Sargent Engineers, and return two originals to Public
Works.

with Sargent Engineers, Inc. and executed on November 5, 2012 and identified as:

All provisions in the basic agreement remain in effect except as expressly modified by this
supplement.
The changes to the agreement are described as follows:

Section IV, TIME FOR BEGINNING AND COMPLETION, is amended to change the date for
completion of the work to read:
