SUBJECT: Interview Persons Interested in Serving on the Jefferson County Board of Equalization;
Michael Smith and Henry Werch
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Interview Persons Interested in Serving on the Jefferson County Board of Equalization; Michael Smith and
Henry Werch
ANALYSIS:
The Commissioner's approved a policy to advertise for all Advisory Boards and Commission vacancies
even if a current member wishes to continue serving on that Board or Commission.
Michael Smith and Henry Werch submitted letters of interest to serve on the Jefferson County Board of
Equalization. Michael Smith is currently serving on this Board. The Board of Equalization consists of
three members who serve three (3) year terms.
It may be beneficial to appoint an alternate who would participate in meetings when another member was
unable to attend.
RECOMMENDATION:
Interview Michael Smith and Henry Werch and either re- appoint Michael Smith; appoint Henry Werch; or
re- advertise for additional applicants. The Commissioners may decide to appoint an alternate member to
the Board of Equalization.
