Nesbitt, P.E., County Engineer MEMORANDUM TO: Jefferson County Board of Commissioners FROM: Robert Nesbitt, County Engineer Plitt , DATE: December 7, 1992 SUBJ: Vacation of a Portion of Old Hadlock Road The section of Old Hadlock Road to be vacated is located parallel and adjacent to Chimacum Road, starting at the North end at Pomwell Road and running south for 606 feet along the Old Hadlock Road. The section of road is located in the Southwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 11, T29N, R1 W, W.M. This is not a platted street, but has been in use for about 100 years. . If this section of road is vacated the Hayden Development Company will dedicate land at the end of the proposed vacation to Jefferson County. The dedication of land would be for road right of way so a new Intersection may be constructed. By vacation of this section of road, part of a dangerous intersection may be corrected and Improved. Vacation of this section of road has been planned by the County for 5 years to improve the intersection of Old Hadlock Road, Chimacum Road, and Elkins Road. Jefferson County plans to improve the intersection during the spring and early summer of 1993. Recommend that the proposed portion of Old Hadlock road be vacated by the County, upon the following condition: Statutory Warranty Deeds granting the rights of way for construction of a new intersection to Jefferson County be fully executed and filed with the Jefferson County Auditor prior to finalizing this vacation. 100% Recycled Paper
