RE: Disposal of Surplus County Equipment
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Various departments have surplus equipment to be auction off at a public auction. RCW
36.34.020, 36.34.030, 36.34.340, 36.34.050 & 36.34.090 outline statutory requirements to
dispose of property.
Notice to the public will be given on July 9t" and July 16th, 2014
List of equipment attached.
ANALYSIS:
Large equipment to be sold by James G Murphy, Inc., of Kenmore, Washington at the County
Shop, located at 371 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock, WA on August 22nd, 2014
FISCAL IMPACT:
Revenue received will be directed back to appropriate departments.
Approve sale with Resolution Notice of Intention to Sell.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE INTENTION OF JEFFERSON COUNTY
TO SELL SURPLUS COUNTY PROPERTY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners will
hold a public hearing on the 21" day of July, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the County Commissioner's
Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, Washington, for
the purpose of declaring their intention to dispose of surplus County property, by public auction,
partially described as follows:

TO SELL SURPLUS } RESOLUTION NO.
COUNTY PROPERTY }
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the County Commissioners of Jefferson County to
dispose of surplus property; and
WHEREAS, various departments have indicated a need to dispose of those items
on the list of surplus equipment attached to this Resolution, for sale at a public auction to be
held on August 22, 2014 and
WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.020 requires that this intention should be published with a
Notice of Public Hearing regarding the disposal of any County property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Jefferson
County that a Notice of Hearing shall be published as required by RCW 36.34.020
particularly describing the property to be sold and designating the place where, the day and
hour, when the hearing will be held for such consideration.
