SUBJECT: DOC Housing Rate Increase
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Jefferson County Jail currently houses DOC
inmates under existing contract 4K9419 at a dais rate of $69.50. This
amendment increases that rate as stated in the amendment.
ANALYSIS: The Jail currently houses short term DOC inmates as space is
available. We average 288 inmate days per year for DOC inmates.
FISCAL IMPACT: We received awroximately $20,016 for 288 days at
$69.50 per day from DOC last year. We expect the number of days to
remain constant for 2014 -2015 and would expect our compensation from
DOC to increase by aDDroximately $500 Der year for the term of the
amendment
RECOMMENDATION: Approve and sign by BoCC.

This Amendment is made by the state of Washington, Department of Corrections,
hereinafter referred to as Department, and the Jefferson County, hereinafter referred to as the County, for
the purpose of amending the above- referenced Contract, heretofore entered into between the Department
and the County.
WHEREAS the purpose of this contract amendment is extend the term of the contract and to document the
rates of compensation;
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the terms and conditions contained herein, or attached and
incorporated and made a part hereof, the Department and the County agree as follows:
The following sections are amended as follows:
Section 2.1 Terms. This Amendment memorializes the commencement and end dates of the
services provided by the Contractor under the contract or under RCW 9.94A.631 (3).

The per diem rate above is the negotiated contract rate per offender bed/ per day and this amendmen ,
includes all legislatively authorized funds for such purposes. All other terms and conditions of the contract
remain in full force and effect. This amendment is effective upon final signature.
