Analysis /Strategic Goals /Pro's Et Con's: This project is included in the officially adopted 2013 -2018 Transportation Improvement Program and 2013 Annual Construction Program as Item No. 8. The purpose of this project is to improve the Chimacum School crossings at SR 19 and West Valley Road and their associated approaches. This project also includes Education, Encouragement and Enforcement components. This supplemental agreement will reimburse the consultant for pedestrian counts that were required by WSDDOT but not provided for in the original contract scope. Furthermore it will provide for construction support which was anticipated in the original contract as a Future Task. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: The original Standard Consultant Agreement, for engineering services, was for $54,891.00 The Supplement Agreement is for $11,272.00 The new maximum payable amount is $66,163.00 This project is funded by a $438,669 WSDOT SRTS grant. Recommendation: The Board is asked to execute the three (3) originals of the Professional Services Consultant Agreement with SCJ Alliance, and return (2) signed originals to Public Works (attn. Eric Kuzma). The modifications are as follows: Exhibit A -1 Scope of Work Phase 2 - Preliminary Design • Task 1 - Preliminary Design 9) Consultant to provide vehicle and pedestrian counts. Phase 2 - Understanding • The County will not provide vehicle and pedestrian counts at the SR19 /West Valley Road intersection. Phase 7 Construction Support • Task 1 — Construction Support l) Requests for Information: Respond to requests for information and /or plan clarifications as requested by the County. Provide responses via email in PDF format. 2) Submittal Reviews: Review shop drawing submittals and /or materials submittals as requested by the County. Provide approvals and /or comments via email in PDF format. 3) Site Visits/Meetings: Attend site meetings and /or perform site visits for construction observation as requested by the County. 4) Plan Changes: Provide design services and prepare plans, specifications and/or estimates for plan changes requested by the County during construction. Maximum Payable Amount. As referenced in Section V (Payment Provisions) and Exhibit D- 3(Payment), with this $11,272.00 Contract Supplement the new maximum payable amount will be $66,163.00 as shown below.
