We received your recent renewal, BLD97-00460 for the manufactured home at 162 W Melissa St. We see this permit has
been ongoing since 1997 and has not received an inspection since 1998. Renewing this permit each year is a
considerable cost to you as well as our department in administrative time. We believe it is in your best interest to get your
building permit finaled and we would like to help you get that done.
Please schedule a progress inspection with our inspectors by calling 360-379-4455 and we can discuss with you what
needs to be completed to get your residence finaled. Since your permit was applied for in 1997 your building will need to
conform to the 1997 building codes, it will not need to be built to the 2012 building codes.

Re: Bldg 97-0460, Final Inspection of Mobile Home
Dear Mr. Marlow
I have reviewed your Building Permit No. 97-0460 because the Department of
Community Development has forwarded your file to this office for possible legal action. A
review of the file forwarded to this office indicates that you never requested final inspection for
your mobile home as the County's code mandates. You must now take all steps necessary to
eventually obtain final approval for your mobile home.
Should you fail to act I am now authorized to FILE SUIT against you in the Superior
Court located in Port Townsend. If a lawsuit is filed, you would be required to appear in Port
Townsend, miss time from work, pay your attorney and possibly PAY COURT PENALTIES,
FINES OR COSTS the Judge might charge against you. All of these fines would be in addition
to any fees you would pay to obtain either the extension or the final inspection, which the Judge
would require you to obtain.
I will presume that you do not wish to bear the expenses listed in the prior paragraph
when this problem can be simply resolved by returning to the Department of Community
Development, 621 Sheridan Street, Port Townsend (QFC Shopping Center) and discussing the
extra steps you need to complete. I will delay filing suit at this time, but if I do not hear from the
DCD that this problem has been speedily resolved, I will have no choice but to FILE SUIT.
