6) Action Items: Product Stewardship – Paint Initiative Resolution – Jerry
A draft Resolution – Support of Paint Stewardship – will be presented with a draft letter of
support from the Committee to the Board of Commissioners. Staff will be seeking Motions to
Approve the Resolution in principle and the letter to the BoCC (with or without revision).

1) Presentation – Waste Reduction and Climate Impacts-Laura Tucker, PH
The SWMP Vision and Goals raises concepts of sustainability, preservation of resources, and
global factors such as energy prices and response to climate change. This presentation will
initiate discussion and feedback from SWAC members on quantifiable links between solid
waste planning criteria and carbon outcomes that can be included in the revised SWMP, the
work of the Climate Action Committee, and possible collaboration in this work.
