To rehabilitate and paint the structural steel grandstand frame. Remove and replace the roofing system, associated light framing and electrical lighting. Analysis /Strategic Goals /Pro's 8t Con's: Jefferson County Strategic Plan, Goal #6, Adequate facilities for work and play. Fiscal Impact /Cost Benefit Analysis: This project will be funded out of the Construction and Renovation Fund which includes approximately $160,000 in capital set aside from Proposition 1 funds. The bid range of this project is $275,000 - $325,000. Recommendation: We recommend that this Call for Bids be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Please sign and return to Public Works. Department Contact: Gordon Ramstrom, Architectural Projects Planner, 385 -9380 Reviewed By: PFiilip Morley CC linty Adminis Date NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS CALL FOR BIDS PROJECT NAME Memorial Athletic Field Roof Rehabilitation Project Notice is hereby given that Jefferson County, State of Washington, will receive sealed bids up until the hour of 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November, 3, 2014 at the Office of the County Commissioners, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, Washington, 98368. Bids may be mailed to the office of the Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, WA, but must be received by the previously stated date and time. Sealed bids will be opened and read publicly at or about 10:15 A.M. or shortly thereafter, on Monday, November 3, 2014, at the Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse, for the Memorial Field Roof Rehabilitation Project. There will be an optional site visit on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until Noon. This Contract provides for removal arid replacement of the Memorial Athletic Field Grandstand Roof and windbreak, structural upgrades, electrical lighting, and preparation/ painting of the structural frame at 550 Washington Street, Port Townsend WA, in accordance with and as described in the original plans and specifications sheet dated August 16,1971, per Exhibit C and in conformance with all current applicable codes and structural requirements, the attached plans and specifications and with the AIA Document A201 'General Conditions of the Contract for Construction' which are by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof. Bids shall be submitted on "Exhibit C" in accordance with the plans and specifications on file at the Department of Public Works, 623 Sheridan St., Port Townsend, Washington, 98368 (360- 385 -9160) where copies may be obtained . at no cost. Electronic copies are also available ' via e-mail at pubworks @co.jefferson.wa. us Bids must be submitted in writing on the forms provided, and sealed. Each bid shall be accompanied by a surety bond, postal money order, cash, cashier's check or certified check payable to the Treasurer of Jefferson County in the sum of five (5 %) percent of the bid amount, to be forfeited to Jefferson County by the successful bidder if he /she fails to enter into a contract and file an acceptable surety bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price. Jefferson County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to Jefferson County and to waive all informalities in the bidding. The Jefferson County Public Works Department in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252.42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d -4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin or sex in consideration for an award.
