Project — Project Title Project Number Description — Gary came into the office to see if we had any data for an old road that was shown on State Route 20 Road Plans from August 1925. Attach Map or Sketch Refer To Respond By - Response - I have researched our historic and current road files, maps, 1966 Commissioners Notes and Resolutions and I have found no indication that the county ever owned or maintained a road in this area. If this road was in existence in 1925 it became abandoned and is no longer in existence. Per the 1925 Road Plans and the location of Todd's property within the quarter quarter section his property would be south of any road and not affected if evidence could be made for a road. See attached letter in response to his request. Pubic Works Director /County Engineer You contacted this office to help determine if the county has any record of a road on or near your property. (P#001- 282 -009) You shared with me that you have never had any knowledge of this road at any time but you are concerned because you have received SR20 road plans from the state that shows an existing road. I have reviewed the road plans from the state that are dated August 1925 and compared the quarter sections to current quarter sections to determine the approximate location if the road were in effect today and determined that your property appears to be just south of the road on the old plans. The plans also say that the road was certified to the county 5 -9 -66 and I have research the Board of County commissioners meeting notes and resolutions for this time frame and I found nothing to indicate the county accepted this road. The road plans also indicate that the name of this road is Wood Road. I have found no indication of the existence or vacation of a Wood Rd in our files. After thorough research through the counties historic and current road files I have found no indication that this is a county road or that any public interest is present. I would suggest contacting your title company to ensure a private interest does not exist.
