ANALYSIS /STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S: A District #1 vacancy on the CF Committee was advertised in the The Leader on November 5, 2014. Ms. Biskup expressed interest by the November 28 deadline. She resides in the City of Port Townsend, and was the only applicant for this seat. CF Committee members and staff reviewed Ms. Biskup's application materials and interviewed her in person on January 5. We agreed that she is exceptionally well qualified and would make an excellent addition to the Committee. Ms. Biskup worked as a paralegal at a private law firm and has a long held interest in land use planning and protection — particularly with respect to agricultural lands. In Fresno County, California, she served on a League of Women Voters committee working with a major developer to implement an agricultural land trust there. She was also an active member of the Sierra Foothill Conservancy, operating in a three- county area, since its inception in the 1990s. She was a board member of the Conservancy for nearly eight years and President of the Board for three of those. Since moving to the Quimper Peninsula a few years ago, Ms. Biskup has volunteered for the Marine Science Center in several capacities. FISCAL IMPACT /COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS: There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for appointing Ms. Biskup to serve on the CF Committee.
