Replacement of the outdated fire alarm panel will promote safety in the County Jail. Fiscal Impact /Cost Benefit Analysis: This project is funded by the Construction and Renovation Fund. This project will upgrade the Fire Alarm System in the Jefferson County Corrections Center (Jail). Recommendation: We recommend that this Call for Bids be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Department Contact: Gordon Ramstrom, Architectural Projects Planner, 385 -9380 Reviewed By: hilip Mo ey, unt' istrator Date SECTION 000020 INVITATION TO BID (CALL FOR BIDS) CALL FOR BIDS JEFFERSON COUNTY JAIL Fire Alarm Replacement Project County Project No.:301 594 1901 Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, State of Washington, will receive sealed bids up until 9:30 A.M. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Office of the County Commissioners, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, Washington, 98368. Bids may be mailed to the office of the Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, WA, but must be received by the previously stated date and time. Sealed bids will be opened and read publicly at or about 10:00 A.M. or shortly thereafter, on Monday, Monday, April 6, 2015, at the Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse, for the Jefferson County Courthouse Window Rehabilitation Project. This project will replace the existing Fire Alarm Control panel at the Jefferson County Corrections Center (Jail). Including a new remote annunciator, testing and upgrades to the existing wiring. There will be a non - mandatory walk thru at the Jefferson County Jail site 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Register with the Owner's representative 24 hours ahead of time. The Engineers' estimate for this project is $114,682.00 including WSST. Bids must be submitted in writing on the forms provided, and sealed. Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the plans and specifications on file at the office of the Director of Central Services, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend, Washington, 98368 (360- 385 -9130) where copies may be obtained at no cost. Each bid shall be accompanied by a surety bond, postal money order, cash, cashier's check or certified check payable to the Treasurer of Jefferson County in the sum of 5% of the bid amount, to be forfeited to Jefferson County by the successful bidder if he fails to enter into a contract and file an acceptable surety bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price within ten (10) days of the award. The Board of County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to Jefferson County and to waive all informalities in the bidding.
