Install C. O. Septic Tank Existing 1150 gallon two compartment septic tank appears to be sound, and may remain. Install water tight risers to grade on all tank lid openings. Install outlet baffle filter ( Orenco FTiPW 0418 — W ) or equivalent. Install 4" C. O. between septic tank and house and provide riser to grade ( if none exists ) Transport Line Because of depth of sewer stub out ( under footing ) and consequently the depth of tank and outlet pipe, it is imperative that minimum grades are used for effuent line to "D" Box and to drainlines. Extend existing 4" 3034 sewer pipe from septic tank (approximately 15' ) to new "D" box @ 1%. Tightline from "D" box to drainlines to be 1%. "D" Box Install 4 hole "D" box on poured in place concrete pad on undisturbed soil with riser to grade. Install speed-levelers and water level prior to designers "as built" inspection. Drainfield Removal of 6 — 12" of soil will be required from drainfield area to achieve the maximum allowable trench depth and cover requirements. Install 3 ( 70' x 3') laterals as shown on plans. Install inspection ports ( inside 6" round valve boxes ) with risers to grade within 5' of each end of lateral ( Gravelless Chambers ) Install straight tees 10' from beginning and at end of each lateral ( Gravel Trenches ) If Gravelless Chambers used install Digger's 20 Gauge, Hot dipped galvanized wire mesh with %" hexagonal openings over entire trench bottom under chambers. Trench depth 36". Water Lines Maintain a minimum of 10' separation from septic components. Inspections Designer needs to be contacted for a pre-construction meeting prior to • j construction to discuss details and to set up schedule for inspections. Designer is responsible for submitting "Record" drawing, and must be called prior to backfilling system. A , General Construction Notes 1. "Approved" septic plans must be on site during construction. 3. If during the installation of the system the contractor finds soil conditions that may lead to premature failure of the system, construction shall be terminated immediately and the designer notified. Such soil conditions may include groundwater, fill, clay, highly compacted soil, bedrock or excessively permeable soils. 1. Any inconsistencies, errors, or omissions that, in the opinion of the installer, would compromise the quality of the wastewater system shall be reported to the designer prior to construction. 1. Suzanne Thill Repair ( 001171012 ) 02 — 13 — 2014 The routine pumping of the septic tank ( SEP 91 — 65 )by Goodman Sanitation revealed an elevated level in the septic tank and a backflow from the drainfield. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the drainfield had been surfacing periodically. Water records from 05 — 01 — 2013 thru 01 — 10 — 2014 reveal an average of 240 GPD with a peak of 300 GPD for last 2 months. Owner revealed that a fixture on a bathtub had been leaking which could have contributed to the higher water usage, ( leak has been fixed ) also previous use of home as rental, age of system and finer textured sands may have contributed to the "failure". I spoke with owner about ways to reduce water usage to 75% of peak or 270 GPD. Respectfully, x4 Bernt Ericsen ( Ericsen Design ) • o' • fig.
