Jefferson County Jail - Fire Alarm Replacement Project

Statement of Issue:
Recommendation to Award Contract for Construction to North Shore Electric, Inc. of
Malta, WA. The bid amount for the contract including sales tax is $134,615.00.
Analysis /Strategic Goals /Pro's ft Con's:
A total of two bids were opened during the BoCC Public session on April 13, 2015.
Based on review of costs and qualifications of the apparent low bidders, the most
qualified and responsive low bidder has been selected.
Fiscal Impact /Cost Benefit Analysis:
This project is funded by the Construction and Renovation Fund. This project will
upgrade the Fire Alarm System in the Jefferson County Corrections Center (Jail).
Recommendation:
The Board is asked to sign the Recommendation of Award of Contract where
indicated, and return the one (1) signed original to Central Services.

The Call for Bids was issued by the Board of County Commissioners, on March 16, 2015.
• The Base Bid is accepted in the amount of $134,615.00.
• Due notice of Call for Bids was given as required by law.
• Two sealed bid were received and opened in the public meeting held on April 13, 2015.
• The Central Services Department has completed checking the bids and has investigated the
qualifications of the lowest bidder.
• The bid tabulation is attached for reference.
The Central Services Department recommends that the construction contract be awarded to the best, most
responsible, and responsive bidder: North Shore Electric, Inc. of Olalla, WA, for the
Jefferson County Jail - Fire Alarm Replacement Project, 81 Elkins Rd. Port Hadlock, WA 98339
