SUBJECT: Request to Reappoint JD Gallant and Rick Jahnke to the Conservation
Futures Citizen Oversight Committee
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Staff requests that the County Commissioners reappoint JD Gallant and Rick Jahnke to the Conservation
Futures Citizen Oversight (CF) Committee to serve additional 4 -year terms.
ANALYSIS /STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S:
Open interest and District 93 vacancies on the CF Committee were advertised in the The Leader on May 20,
2015. Mr. Jahnke expressed interest by the June 5 deadline to continue representing the interest of "Coastal
Areas". His was the only application for an open interest seat during that period. JD Gallant also requested
reappointment to continue representing District 93. There were no other applicants for that seat either.
Both men have very capably served the Committee since 2011. Staff is pleased and grateful that they are
seeking another term and heard no objections to the potential reappointments from any of the other
members.
FISCAL :IMPACT /COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for appointing Mr. Jahnke and Mr. Gallant to serve
on the CF Committee.
RECOMMENDATION:
Reappoint JD Gallant to Rick Jahnke to the Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee to continue
to represent District #3 and Coastal Areas respectively for additional 4 -year terms.
