C_` �� - •-'- r david goldsmith, director January 31, 1986 RECEIVED Mr. George Yount, Manager FEB 5 1986 Port of Port Townsend 2539 Washington Street Port Townsend, Washington 98368 Re: Shoreline Substantial Development Permit Exemption Dear Mr. Yount: I have reviewed your letter of January 29, 1986 requesting a shoreline exemption for the replacement of the pier at Lower Hadlock due to damage from dryrot and marine organisms. It is the determination of this office that the proposed work is exempt from the permit requirements of the Jefferson-Port Townsend Shoreline Management Master Program under the provisions of Section 3.402(4) as normal maintenance and repair of an existing lawful structure. This exemption is granted with the following conditions: 1. Work within the jurisdiction of the Jefferson-Port Townsend Shoreline Management Master Program, other than described in your letter, shall receive separate review and approval from this office prior to the commencement of construction. 2. The approval of any other agency with jurisdiction, or any required permits shall be. obtained prior to undertaking the project. 3. A state approved public access sign shall be erected on the site in a timely manner. Please contact me if I may be of further assistance in this matter.
