Gentlemen:
Recently Mr. Bedell contacted us and requested an approval for modifying the
drainfield plan that we prepared in 1972, for the above project. He requested
that in lieu of the stop gates in the distribution box, that he be allowed to
run a separate discharge pipe to each side of the drainfield. Each discharge
pipe would be valved so that by manipulating the valves, he could alternate
the use of the drainfields to provide the same function that the distribution
box would provide. We have no objections to such a modification.
Further, he asked whether pumps capable of producing 55 gallons per minute with
an inch and a half outlet would be sufficient. According to our computations,
the capacity is sufficient and since the pump will be pumping effluent and not
sludge, the one and a half inch discharge should also be sufficient.
If we can furnish you with any additional information, we would be glad to do
so upon request.
