Upon review of your application file we show that a request for additional information was sent out to you in 2000 and we have not received the material needed to complete the permitting process. Jefferson County Code states: [A] 105.3.2 Time limitation of application. "An application for a permit for any proposed work shall be deemed to have been abandoned 180 days after the date of filing unless such application has been pursued in good faith or a permit has been issued; except that the building official is authorized to grant one or more extensions of time for additional periods not exceeding 90 days each. The extension shall be requested in writing and justifiable case demonstrated." As of the date of this letter, we have no evidence of activity on this permit application in the time frame indicated above. We strongly encourage you to either fulfill completion of this application so the permit can be issued or withdraw the application. Please be aware that building without required permits will incur significant penalties, please see reverse of this letter on our policy. If construction was started without a permit, we strongly encourage you to finish the permit application to avoid additional penalty fees. This is the only notice you will receive. If we do not receive your full payment by the due date, your permit will be cancelled. Once cancelled, if you later decide to pursue permitting the structure, you will have to apply for an entirely new building permit, pay all associated fees, and comply with current building and zoning code requirements. In the event that your building application is cancelled, the County may choose to record a "Notice to Title" on the property, to document the property is out of compliance with the County's development codes. If we do not receive a response from you by December 15,2014 we will deem the permit abandoned and proceed with closing out the file. Any future work for this project will require a new permit application, and payment of current fees. if you choose to cancel your permit you have the option to pick up your building plans from our office but must do so before December 1, 2014 or they will be disposed of.
