While it is difficult to assure "exact" uniformity among benefits for all employee positons, it is important to keep the benefits at a rate that will allow the County to retain and recruit employees for all positions. ANALYSIS: It is being proposed that effective January 1, 2015, the additional floating holiday accrual schedule for FLSA and union exempt employees be aligned with the additional floating holiday accrual schedule for other union represented employees as follows: Completed Months of Employment Completed Years of Employment Non -Accruable PTONacation Days (Floating Holidays) Per Calendar Year (based on FTE) 0 thru 36 0 thru 3 1 37 thru 120 3+ thru 10 2 121+ 10+ 3 and that FLSA and union exempt employees be granted one additional floating holiday, and receive longevity pay similar to other union represented employees as follows: Employees with 15 years of County service and in the top step of the exempt wage table for at least 12 months will receive a one-time lump sum of $800.00 upon completion of 15' year and on each following annual anniversary. Employees with 20 years of County service and in the top step of the exempt wage table for over 12 months will receive a one-time lump sum of $1,200.00 upon completion of 20" year and on each following annual anniversary. Consent Agenda Commissioners Office FISCAL IMPACT: Currently, there are 36 FLSA and union exempt employees that will be granted an additional floating holiday. In 2015, 11 FLSA and union exempt employees will be eligible to receive longevity payments as they have been at the top step of the exempt wage table for at least 12 months. Of those, three employees have 15+ years of service with the County, and eight employees have 20+ years of service with the County. Approve and sign the resolution.
