(when required) Culvert Replacement By: Attorney-in-fact Date You are ordered to perform the following described work upon receipt of an approved copy of this change order: The Contract documents are modified as follows: The Contractor proposes to substitute 0.625" casing wall thickness in lieu of the County's specified 0.75" casing wall thickness. The Contractor takes full responsibility for the engineering calculations that the Contractor prepared to demonstrate that the 47'X 0.625' pipe can withstand pipe ramming forces and obstructions vdtfout deforming. The Contractor takes full responsibility for corrective action in the event that the casing deforms during ramming. The Contractor shall credit Jefferson County in the amount of $7,032.00. All work materials and measurement to be in accordance wfth the provisions of the standard specifications and special provisions for the type of construction involved. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: This project consists of replacing the substandard, failing culvert at Upper Hoh Road MP 3.338 with a new steel culvert, to be installed by the pipe ramming method. Change Order No. 2 was proposed by the contractor to reduce the steel pipe wall thickness from 0.75 -inch to 0.625 -inch and credit Jefferson County $7,032. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: This change order will decrease the contract amount by $7,032.00, from $594,038.64 to $587,006.64. This project is funded at 100% by the Federal Highway Administration. Recommendation: Public Works recommends that the Board execute all three originals of Change Order No. 2 with Rognlin's Inc. and return two (2) originals to Public Works for further processing.
