Subject: Jefferson County Jail - Fire Alarm Replacement Project
Execution Supplement to Consultant Contract

Statement of Issue: The execution of the contract supplement for consulting services
with Hultz-BHU Engineers Inc., of Tacoma, Washington. This project will replace and
upgrade the Fire Alarm system at the Jefferson County Jail.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's ft Con's: This contract supplement will provide
consulting services to resolve issues related to the coordination of the Fire Alarm
System with the existing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning system at the jail.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: This $2,000 supplement will increase the
contract maximum to $10,100.00. No change to the end date of the Contract.
Recommendation: We recommend that this Contract Supplement be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Please sign all three (3) contract supplement originals and
return two (2) originals to Central Services, retaining one original for your records.

Project Title: Jefferson County Jail New Maximum Amount Payable
Fire Alarm Replacement Project $10,100.00
Description of Work: This project will replace and upgrade the Fire Alarm Panel and System at the Jefferson
County Jail complex. Additional design work to coordinate with existing conditions requires this Supplemental
Agreement.
The Local Agency of Jefferson County Central Services Department desires to supplement the agreement
entered into with Hultz-BHU Engineers Inc. and executed on February 2, 2015.
All provisions in the basic agreement remain in effect except as expressly modified by this supplement.
The changes to the agreement are described as follows:
Section II, SCOPE OF WORK, is hereby changed to read:

Section IV, TIME FOR BEGINNING AND COMPLETION, is amended to change the number of
calendar days for completion of the work to read: NO CHANGE.
