SUBJECT: Climate Action Committee (CAC) Appointments: Ashley Rosser (student), Nina
Burkoas (strategy consultant & educator — including clients in the energy and
agriculture sector), David Wilkinson (atmospheric science/agriculture/ air &water
quality/solid waste), Matt Ready (hospital/health), and Lessa Monroe (transit).

STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The Jefferson County and City of Port Townsend Climate Action Committee, established in January 2008
as a joint City/County committee, is considering Ashley Rosser (student), Nina Burkoas (strategy consultant
& educator — including clients in the energy and agriculture sector), David Wilkinson (atmospheric
science/agriculture/ air &water quality/solid waste), Matt Ready (hospital/health), and Lessa Monroe
(transit) for membership.
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS:
Consistent with the process outlined in the joint resolution, the Chair of the BoCC and the Mayor, in
consultation with the County Administrator and City Manager, have reviewed letters of interest and provide,
herein, their recommendation on appointments to the CAC. The committee shall consist of no more than 15
members, representing a broad range of interests.

FISCAL IMPACT: There is no anticipated fiscal impact associated with the approval of these members.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners move to:
1. Appoint Ashley Rosser (student), Nina Burkoas (strategy consultant & educator — including clients in the
energy and agriculture sector), David Wilkinson (atmospheric science/agriculture/ air &water
quality/solid waste), Matt Ready (hospital/health), and Lessa Monroe (transit) as members of the Joint
