SUBJECT: Request to Reappoint Scott Brinton, Ray Hunter and Lorna Smith
to the Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight Committee
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Environmental Health requests that the County Commissioners reappoint Scott Brinton, Ray Hunter and
Lorna Smith to the Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight (CF) Committee to serve additional 4 -year
terms.
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S:
Three open interest vacancies on the CF Committee were advertised in the The Leader on January 20, 2016.
Mr. Brinton, Mr. Hunter and Ms. Smith all expressed interest by the February 101 deadline to continue
representing their interests of "Agriculture", "Fallow Farms", and "Ecotourism" respectively. No other
applications for these seats were received during the application period.
All three individuals have served very capably on the Committee since 2012. Their current terms expire on
February 21, 2016. EH staff is pleased and grateful that they are seeking reappointment.
FISCAL LMPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for reappointing Mr. Brinton, Mr. Hunter and Ms.
Smith to serve on the CF Committee.
RECOMMENDATION:
Reappoint Scott Brinton, Ray Hunter and Lorna Smith to the Conservation Futures Citizen Oversight
Committee for additional 4 -year terms.
