Purpose: The purpose of this amendment is to extend the term of this agreement
through April 30, 2016.
WHEREAS, on April 1, 2015, Jefferson County, a municipal corporation (herein known
as "County") entered into an agreement ("original Contract") with Michelle Farfan (herein
known as "Consultant"); and
WHEREAS, the County and Consultant intend to extend the term of this Contract through
April 30, 2016;
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
1. SECTION 1. EFFECTIVE DATE OF CONTRACT is hereby amended to read:
The Contract will become effective on April 1, 2015, and terminate on April 30,
2016. Each subsequent year shall require a new contract, although the parties may
agree to renew this contract annually by jointly executing a contract amendment
extending its term. In no event will the Contract or amendment thereto become
effective unless and until it is approved and executed by the Jefferson County Board
of Commissioners.
2. EXHIBIT B: COMPENSATION is amended to read:
Consultant will be paid an hourly rate of $60.00 for Land Use Planning and is not to
exceed $2,500 for the period of April 1, 2016 to April 30, 2016. This amount may be
exceeded only with prior written approval of the County Administrator.

3. Except as set forth in this Amendment, all other terms of the original April, 1 2015

SUBJECT: Consultant Contract — Associate Planner Amendment #2
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The Department of Community Development (DCD) has a need for additional assistance for
processing land use permit applications. Former DCD Associate Planner Michelle Farfan has
agreed to work for DCD for a limited time under a contract arrangement. This contract will be
expiring March 31St, 2016 and we would like to extend it through April 30, 2016.
ANALYSIS:
A proposed contract amendment for planning consultant services with Michelle Farfan is included
with this memo. The contract has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County's Chief
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.
FISCAL IMPACT/COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
The contract amount is $2,500, and is to be paid for by the Salaries and Benefits monies that
have been saved by our vacant position planning manager position.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the contract with provided with this agenda request.
