Revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps
And Your Property
You are receiving this notice because Jefferson County’s or the City
of Port Townsend’s records indicate you own property that is at
least partially inside an identified flood hazard area.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has revised
selected maps that identify flood hazard zones within Jefferson
County. The City of Port Townsend as well as the unincorporated
areas of Jefferson County have flood zone revisions including in the
following areas:
Coastal/Marine Areas of Jefferson County
Hoh River
Big and Little Quilcene Rivers
Dosewallips River
Duckadush River
Clearwater River
Pending revisions reflect recent engineering studies and other
updated information.
The final maps will indicate where mortgage lenders may require
flood insurance and where development regulations may apply.
Property owners are encouraged to review the revised flood
maps.
They are available on the Jefferson County Department of
Community Development website at:
www.co.jefferson.wa.us/commdevelopment/defaut.htm
The maps for areas within the City are available at:
www.cityofpt.us/dsd/
Paper maps are also available at:
