Subject Bid Opening - Undie Road Emergency Relocation Project
Statement of Issue Open sealed bids for the Undie Road Emergency Relocation Project
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's Slide activity has severely damaged the roadway at
Undie Road MP 1 1 threatening to cut off access for residents Engineers, geologists and
geomorphologists have been consulted and agree that the likelihood of arresting the slide is
low and would come at very high cost with a multi-year permitting timeframe This project is
to create an alternate route that entails using 1 3 miles of existing DNR road and 0 9 miles of
new construction on steep terrain
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis Engineer's Estimate is $926,150 FEMA will pay for
$209,000 Remaining funds are County
Recommendation Open and read sealed bids Direct Public Works to examine bids and
return at a later date with an award recommendation
