The Coastal Zone Atlas of Washington maps this area as "unstable recent slide. " While the bluff is estimated to drop near vertically for a distance of 20 feet, staff did not locate evidence of any recent significant slides in the vicinity of the development area. Staff believes that the proposed development poses no additional threat to destabilize the bluff. CAR95-0070 4) Staff called applicant on 05/18/95 to inquire about where and how the pool is to be drained since this issue was of some concern to staff. Applicant informed staff that the pool will not be drained but that the water will be continuously reconditioned. 5) The fish and wildlife habitat area is entirely associated with the shoreline. The minimum buffer for fish and wildlife habitat area along the shoreline is 30 feet as measured from the beginning of the vegetation line along the beach. In this instance, the required fish and wildlife habitat area buffer is entirely contained within the landslide hazard area and its associated buffer and needs no additional consideration.
