Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
Statement of Issue:
Schedule a public hearing for 10:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2016 for the
purpose of receiving public testimony concerning adoption of the 2017-2022 Jefferson
County Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). RCW 36.81.121 obligates
the legislative authority of each county in the state to adopt on an annual basis a 6 -yr
TIP, holding a public hearing prior to adoption. The proposed 6 -year TIP will be
available for public review through the Board's office and on the County website at
the time of the first published Notice of Public Hearing.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pros Ft Cons:
The Board is requested to set the hearing date and sign the attached Notice of Public
Hearing.
Fiscal Impact/Cost-Benefit Analysis:
There is no cost associated with this action. Fiscal impact of projects is reviewed
through the adoption of the Annual Construction Program and budget process.
Recommendation:
Authorize the Chair to sign the Notice of Public Hearing and return it to Public Works
for further processing. Public Works will arrange for publication in the newspaper of
record.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Jefferson County Board of
Commissioners on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 10:00 AM in the Commissioners' Chambers
at the County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, Washington, for the purpose of
taking testimony concerning the adoption of the Jefferson County 2017-2022 Six -Year
Transportation Improvement Program "Each county shall perpetually have available advanced
plans looking to the future for not less than six years as a guide in carrying out a coordinated
transportation program" (RCW 36 81 121(1)) Written public comments on the proposed Program
