Why? Dean Rosenthal · Citizen · (Postal Code: unknown) · Jul 12, 2016 6:27 pm 0 Votes You need to widen your area for sewers and municipal water. For a county so intent on mitigating environmental impact especially on the Puget Sound, this would seem to be a priority. Septic systems are not as good as sewer systems. Lucas Hart · Citizen · (Postal Code: unknown) · Sep 23, 2016 12:08 am 0 Votes 7) Provide solid waste facilities and programs that are efficient, and which utilize recycling to the maximum extent practicable. It would be great to improve and expand recycling capabilities in our county. It's always sad to see the piles of recyclables in the garbage at the Port Townsend transfer station. Recycling needs to be made easy for people. We need to find a way to tap into recycling centers that can pick up recycling at residences throughout the county. Mixed recycling (just throw your plastic, aluminum and glass in one container) would also make it far more efficient and effective. Can we also connect to a facility that recycles #5 plastic and clamshells? Our county loves the ocean, beaches and ocean resources, it's well known plastics are a major contributor to marine debris. It's all over our local beaches. Let's do our part to have a positive impact on the problem. More hazardous waste (oil, paint, gas) stations should also be made available. Our county has far too many water resources to risk these materials leaching into places they don't belong. If it's easy to dispose of, more of it will be collected before it goes to the wrong place. 1 of 2 Full Report Utilities Element Closed Oct 31, 2016 · Discussion · 2 Participants · 3 Topics · 2 Answers · 0 Replies · 0 Votes HOW MIGHT WE? 0 Answers · 0 Replies How might we implement any needed changes to the utilities element goals? 2 of 2 Full Report
