What’s at stake?
It’s ALIVE!
Jefferson County is updating its comprehensive Plan for the 21st century and wants to
hear from you. Let’s discuss, debate, and revise what this living document should say to
reflect our VALUES, DESIRES, NEEDS, LIMITATIONS and ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
Why care?
The tranquil waters, inspiring beauty, stories, and bountiful natural resources in our
county is the stuff of legends. We have a commitment to pass down our heritage in a
changing world to create a community of lasting value. Let’s plan for a better future.
A safe, walkable, bikeable
community for our kids.
Lack of affordable housing options
can lead to homeless tent camps.

The 1998 Comprehensive Plan established the zoning for the county which guides how
many homes can be on a property and how the land can be used. Current zoning has four
main designations: residential, resource (agricultural, forestry, and mining), commercial,
and industrial.
Some say the eastern portion of the county resembles a dragon! Some say the eastern portion of the county resembles a dragon!
I value affordable housing.
I would like to see healthier
forests. I think we could do
better keeping our rivers clean.
Thank you for listening!
