Provide equipment at waste site to spread material. Costs for haul and spread to be paid at hourly rates per attachments. Cost: $32,004.29 Additional Time: 2 Contract Days 2) Contractor has proposed and County has agreed that Crushed Surfacing Base Course may be used in lieu of Crushed Surfacing Top Course (Bid Item #17). Furthermore, Contractor has propsed and County has agreed to a source (Pit Q-85) and a credit of $5.00 per ton for this material. Finally, a conversion factor of 1.48 tons per cubic yard (truck measure) shall be used. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Ft Con's: This change order contains three (3) elements which are 1) cost to remove and haul unsuitable soils off site from STA 53+00 to 55+00; 2) credit for use of crushed surfacing base course from pit Q-85; and 3) cost to perform overtime work as ordered by the Engineer on 10/29 to take advantage of one of the few good weather days available in October that was twice as wet as average (22.5 inches of rain). Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Estimated $17,194. Project is on budget and is approximately 90% complete. Recommendation: Public Works recommends that the Board approve Change Order #2 by signing all three attached forms and returning to Public Works for further processing.
