HomeMy WebLinkAbout011717_ca02Department of Public Works O Consent Agenda Page 1 of 1 Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Agenda Request To: Board of Commissioners Philip Morley, County Administrator From: Monte Reinders, PE, Public Works Director/County Engineer,c� Agenda Date: January 17, 2017 Subject: Bid Award for 2017 Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products Statement of Issue: Public Works staff has completed checking the bids opened on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 for the 2017 Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products, and finds it to be in the best interest of the County to award a Purchase a Sale Agreement to Albina Asphalt of Vancouver, WA for the amounts specified in their bid proposal. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: This Bid Award is consistent with the County's goals in that it provides for maintenance of the County roads infrastructure. This product is used in the County's annual pavement surfacing and preservation program. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Purchase of this material is accounted for in the 2017 Road Operations Budget. The estimated Purchase a. Sale Agreement amount is $170,475.00 plus Washington State Sales Tax; however, there is no guaranteed minimum order with the supplier. (This is a supply Agreement). Recommendation: The Board is asked to award the Purchase Et Sale Agreement by signing and returning the attached Memorandum to Public Works for further processing. The Purchase Et Sale Agreement will then be returned to the Board for final execution. Public Works staff has completed checking the bids for the 2017 Supply of Liquid Asphalt, which were publicly opened and read aloud in the Commissioners Chambers at 10:00 a.m. on January 3, 2017. Public Works finds it to be in the best interest of the County to award a Purchase & Sale Agreement for supply of this product in accordance with the General Contract Provisions to Albina Asphalt of Vancouver, WA, for the following unit bid prices, CRS -2P (325 Tons): $324.50 per ton of product plus $76.00 per ton for freight. $130,162.50 CSS -1 (50% Dilute) (125 Tons): $222.50 per ton of product plus $76.00 per ton for freight. $ 37,312.50 Contractor Performance Bond: .................................................................................................. $ 3,000.00 and an estimated value of $170,475.00, plus Washington State Sales Tax.
