Subject: County Road Administration Board Road Levy Certification
Statement of Issue:
The County Road Administration Board requires that the County certify the Road Levy
each year.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pros Et Cons:
The "Digital Submittal Certification" form provides space for the required signature of
the Chair of the Board of Commissioners.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Upon fulfillment of this requirement, the County Road Administration Board can issue
our "Certificate of Standards in Good Practice," which insures the distribution of
Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax revenues to Jefferson County.
Recommendation:
Sign the attached "Digital Submittal Certification" and return to Public Works for
further processing.

Expenditures for Traffic Law Enforcement amounts are both required in
order to ascertain county eligibility for RATA funds. (see WAC 136-150-
030)
Note: WAC 136-150-021 provides that "The CRABoard will request that every county legislative authority
submit a certification showing the amount of the road levy fixed and the amount, if any, budgeted in
accordance with RCW 36.33.220 for traffic law enforcement and/or any other purpose from diverted road
levy no later than February 1 st of each year".

In the Matter of Diversion of Road Levy }
for Traffic Law Enforcement for the } RESOLUTION NO. 49-16
2017 General Fund Budget }
WHEREAS, RCW 36.33.220 authorizes the Board of County Commissioner to divert
any portion of the County Road property taxes to provide traffic law enforcement services in the
unincorporated areas of the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners intends to utilize the County Road
Fund monies for the traffic law enforcement services in the unincorporated areas of the County;
and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson County has established a revenue account with revenue code
311.20 for the purpose of identifying the County Road fund monies used for traffic enforcement
in the unincorporated areas of the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Jefferson
County that the Road Tax Levy collected in 2017 be divided with $720,000 deposited in the
Current Expense Fund and identified as revenue code 311.20, and the remainder deposited in the
County Road Fund.
