Guest Speakers: Vicki Kirkpatrick, Public Health Director Tammey Newton, Community Health Director Karen Obermeyer, Community Health Educator Public in Attendance: One Approval of Agenda: Agenda was approved with change. Approval of Minutes: Meeting minutes from January 4th 2017, approved. COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENTS 2:10 – Koan States she has been working with David Wayne Johnson to find a facilitator from an outside source to help the Planning Commission in writing the introduction/vision to the Comprehensive Plan. 4:35 – Sircely Apologizes for not having sent out a draft outline/ideas for the Comprehensive Plan Vision, as promised in an earlier meeting. 5:40 – Giske Resubmits to the Planning Commission, a document in which he had drafted during past work on the Comprehensive Plan update. This document is titled “County of Jefferson, State of Washington, Comprehensive Plan Preamble.” The submittal of this document is for further consideration by the Planning Commission as it begins work on the formal vision for the Comprehensive Plan. DISCUSSION 7:30 The Jefferson County Public Health Department presents on health issues in Jefferson County and how it ties into the elements of the Comprehensive Plan. The overall health of the citizens in Jefferson County is discussed along with the contributing factors of what effects people’s health. A copy of the Power Point presentation was provided to the Planning Commission. OBSERVER COMMENT 1:34:00 - Cherie Perry States she has attended this meeting in hopes to learn more about the Comprehensive Plan update.

DIRECTOR UPDATES 1:34:45 – Greetham Announces that the Department of Community Development will have a booth exhibiting the Comprehensive Plan at the Home and Landscape show located at Blue Heron Middle school on February 25th. 1:35:28 – Greetham The topic of changing the time and location of the regular Planning Commission meeting is discussed. No decision is made during this discussion. 1:41:28 – Greetham Gives brief refresher on the role of the Planning Commission in regards to the Comprehensive Plan update and in giving recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The Planning Commission is directed to the Jefferson County Code section 18.45.010(3) where this role is defined. FOLLOW-UP ITEMS 1:44:55 – Koan Recaps on what the Planning Commission should expect for the next two meetings while having a facilitator present. The facilitator with be giving guidance in drafting the introductory portion of the Comprehensive Plan. Next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for 2/1/2017 at 6:30 pm at the Tri-Area Community Center.
