Commissioner Glen Huntingford and Commissioner Daniel Harpole were both present. COUNTY ADMINISTRA TORS BRIEFING SESSION: County Administrator Charles Saddler reported: · He met with Tim Hockett of Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCap, formerly CAC) about the Brinnon Senior Center. Their plan is to transition some of the motel rooms to apartments, based on demand, and they are working on establishing a medical clinic in the building and possibly a space to house a Deputy Sheriff. All of the alternatives will be reviewed with the community before they are brought to the Board. · He also met with representatives of Habitat for Humanity who are interested in being involved with the Housing Coalition that is being formed, although only govermnental agencies have been invited at this point in the process. The County will be buying a house and a piece of property in the Little Quilcene River flood plain and, according to the law, the building could be transferred to a non- profit agency such as Habitat for Humanity. They have shown an interest in this type of transaction. ° This Thursday aftemoon is the Park and Recreation Summit at the Pope Marine Building. APPROVAL OFMINUTES: Commissioner Harpole moved to approve the minutes of August 21, 2000 as submitted. Commissioner Huntingford seconded the motion which carded by a unanimous vote. The Board attended the Northwest Maritime Center ceremony for the purchase of the Thomas Oil Property at Pope Marine Park from 9:00 to 9:25 a.m. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: No one appeared at the Public Comment Period. Commissioner Huntingford seconded the motion which carded by a unanimous vote. Re-Draw Five (5) Weed Board District Boundaries; Jefferson County Noxious Weed Board; New Boundaries are Determined by Voting Precincts, Not School Districts Page 2 Commissioners Meeting Minutes: Week of August 28, 2000 The Board attended a forum on prescription medications with Representative Norm Dicks at Jefferson General Hospital from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and then met in Executive Session from 11:15-11:45 a.m. with the County Administrator, the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Community Development regarding potential litigation.
