HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-11-05Board’s Official Business Highlights from Monday’s Commissioner Meeting October 11, 2005 RESOLUTION: The Board came out of Executive Session with the Sheriff and the Prosecuting Attorney and approved a resolution agreeing to pay any punitive damages that might be awarded against certain commissioned law enforcement officers employed by the Jefferson County Sheriff. This has to do with a civil law suit filed in Superior Court regarding an arrest and incarceration. PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following comments were made: a question was asked about the WRIA 17 meeting that was held last week. CONSENT AGENDA: All of the items on the Consent Agenda were approved as follows: RESOLUTION: Temporary restriction of traffic on Oil City Road No. 134309 for the Barlow Bridge Replacement Project No. CR1680; October 17, 2005 through December 31, 2005 5 AGREEMENTS: 1) Construction of Barlow Bridge on Oil City Road, Project No. CR1680 with Wilson Construction of Port Angeles, Inc.; 2) Land surveying services for Donkey Creek Culvert on Clearwater Road, Project No. CR1626 with Johnston Land Surveying; 3) WorkFirst Program with Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS); 4) Project management for telephone system replacement with Anne Sears & Associates, and; 5) Communications Coordinator and project management of the Northwest Straits Marine Resources Committee Year 6 Project, CZM310, Grant No. G0600035 with Amy Leitman 2 ADVISORY BOARD RESIGNATIONS: 1) Cathy Barsukoff from the Jefferson County Tourism Coordinating Council, and 2) Andrew Mackie from the Jefferson County Substance Abuse Services Advisory Board NEW ALTERNATE APPOINTED: The Board approved a change of the County alternate for the Washington Counties Risk Pool Board (WCRP). The County Administrator is currently the representative and Chairman Johnson was chosen as the alternate in January. Since Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney David Alvarez sits on the Risk Management Committee for the County, the Board agreed that he should become the alternate in case John Fischbach isn’t available.
