HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-14-06Board’s Official Business Highlights from Monday’s Commissioner Meeting March 14, 2006 BID AWARD: Chairman Johnson and Commissioner Sullivan voted to accept the recommendation for bid award to The Port Townsend/Jefferson County Leader as the official County newspaper for 2006. CONSENT AGENDA: The following items on the Consent Agenda were approved: 2 AGREEMENTS: 1) Alternative Response System and Early Intervention Program with the State Department of Social and Health Services, and 2) Amendment No. 7 to 2005-2006 Consolidated Health Services Contract with the State Department of Health 2 BID CALLS: 1) Supply of liquid asphalt products for road maintenance; bids will be accepted until 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2006 and opened and read publicly at 10:05 a.m., and 2) Supply of asphalt concrete for road maintenance; bids will be accepted until 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2006 and opened and read publicly at 10:10 a.m. ADVISORY BOARD REAPPOINT- MENT: Brian Miller to a 2-year term on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board BID OPENING: The County Engineer opened two bids that were received for Phase 1 of the Paradise Bay Road Project. The bids were from Seton Construction and Stan Palmer Construction. The Public Works Department will review the bids and have a recommendation to the Board within a few weeks. BID OPENING: No bids were received for the surplus computer equipment. The following actions may be used to dispose of the equipment. •taken to the Transfer Station for disposal as excess •transferred to any other government that expresses interest •transferred to any non-profit corporation that provides services within the County APPOINTMENTS: •The Board appointed Steve Crosland to serve an unexpired term on the Parks Advisory Board representing District #2. His term will expire on May 1, 2006. •After interviewing 4 candidates who were interested in serving on the Housing Authority Advisory Board, the Board appointed David Rymph to an unexpired term that expires on February 1, 2009 and Leslie Peterson to an unexpired term that expires on July 16, 2006. •The Board appointed Jim Donaldson to serve an unexpired term on the Marine Resources Committee representing District #3. His term will expire on August 16 2006. •Robert and Martha Burns were appointed to serve a 2 year term on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee representing District #3. Their term will expire on March 13, 2008.
