BECKETT POINT SEPTIC SYSTEM
PROJECT: The PUD and the Beckett Point
community have been working together to put in
a community sewer system so that people don’t
have to rely on their septic tanks which could
add to the pollution of Discovery Bay. Human
bones were discovered during excavation for
the project on May 29 and the State was called
because the location has been identified as a
native village site. Representatives from the
State, the Tribes, the PUD and the County met
to discuss the next steps in the process and
possible options to keep the project going. A
special meeting to continue these discussions is
tentatively scheduled for Thursday, June 14 at 3
p.m. at the Courthouse.
