The three “Island Home” vessels are the only new boats funded. One vessel is under construction now for the Port Townsend- Keystone run and they will be going out to bid on the other two by the end of the summer. In the plan, all the ferry routes will maintain the current service except for larger vessels to be put on the Bremerton and the San Juan Island routes. There are no plans to update the terminals although minor repairs will be done. The Legislature is being tasked this year with creating a dedicated funding source for WSFS. A 2.5% fare increase will go into affect in October and they are looking at a 10% super- surcharge for summer travel. They are planning to go to a reservation system on all routes within the next few years.
