Public Comment Period: The following is a
summary of comments made by citizens in
attendance at the meeting and reflect their
personal opinions:
A citizen requested the Board send a
letter to the Utilities Commission
regarding broadband in Brinnon;
A citizen asked why the County has a
contract with the now non-existent Fred
Hill Materials company?
A citizen spoke in regards to global
warming and pollution from coal plants;
A citizen expressed concern for
Jefferson Transit’s financial situation and
the cut of Sunday bus service;
A citizen stated there is a theme in local
government that promises are not kept
to the voters;
A citizen spoke regarding high velocity
magazine clips for weapons; and
A citizen spoke about deputy sheriff’s
discharging firearms inside buildings
and not being properly reprimanded.
CONSENT AGENDA: The Board unanimously
approved the items on the consent agenda as
presented:
3 RESOLUTIONS: 1) Declare Certain Personal
Property as Surplus and Authorize Disposal; 2)
Amending Article 4.03 of the Flexible Benefits
Plan; and 3) Termination of Housing Action
Plan Network (HAPN) and Potential Transition
to a Shelter Providers Network Model
4 AGREEMENTS: 1) Preparation of
Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement
(SEIS) for Pleasant Harbor Master Planned
Resort; E.A. Blumen; 2) Reimbursement for
Preparation of Supplemental Environmental
Impact Statement (SEIS) for Pleasant Harbor
Master Planned Resort Garth Mann, Pleasant
Harbor Marina & Golf Resort, LLP; 3) 2013
Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for
Bituminous Surface Treatment Program; Albina
Asphalt; and 4) Solid Waste Disposal Facility

COMMISSIONERS BRIEFING SESSION: The
Commissioners each provided updates on the
following items:
Chairman Austin stated Washington State
Secretary of Health Mary Selecky will be
retiring. He will be attending a Washington
State Board of Health meeting this week.
Commissioner Sullivan stated he may need to
sit in for Commissioner Johnson for various
meetings in Olympia this week.
Washington State Department of Natural
Resources (DNR) 3rd and 4th Quarter County
Income Reports: DNR staff updated the Board
on a financial report regarding current and
anticipated revenue.
Department of Community Development’s
(DCD) role with the Climate Action
Committee (CAC): The Board discussed DCD’s
role and staff time in regard to the Climate
Action Committee. No action was taken.
