HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-24-14 PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of comments made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and reflect their personal opinions:  Four citizens commented on the proposed Noise Ordinance;  A citizen stated he met with Economic Development Council (EDC) staff who confirmed the need for jobs;  A citizen commented on the proposed Animal Responsibility code update;  A citizen spoke on behalf of the Jefferson County Democrats and stated: 1) They urged the Board to advocate for the process re: establishing a warfare range; 2) They support an increase in state revenue; and 3) The Jefferson Healthcare Board needs to advocate for healthcare security.; and  A citizen commented on the importance of laws. All Elected Officials will be sworn in on January 2, 2015. Commissioner Johnson - Attended a Safe Energy Leadership Alliance (SELA) meeting and a Marine Resource Committee meeting last week where the effects of rail oil transportation were discussed. Commissioner Sullivan - Attended a forum on homelessness last week. - Met with the Peninsula Regional Transportation Planning Organization (PRTPO) last week. New ferry to be named “Chimacum.” DISCUSSION and Hearing Notice: After discussion, the Board approved the following hearing notice as amended: The Proposed Animal Responsibility Ordinance hearing is set for Monday, December 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cotton Building, 607 Water Street, Port Townsend, WA. HEARING re: Proposed Clean Water District Ordinance: After the hearing, the Board unanimously adopted ORDINANCE NO. 11-1124-14 Amending Jefferson County Clean Water District, Jefferson County Code Ch. 8.65. HEARING RE: Proposed Noise Control Ordinance: After hearing public testimony, the Board concurred to schedule further deliberation before making a decision. DISCUSSION re: Participation in the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Workers’ Compensation Retrospective Rating Program: After discussion, the Board approved an application and agreement for participation in AWC’s program.
