PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of
comments made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and
reflect their personal opinions:
• A citizen stated he recently experienced a medical emergency
and commended East Jefferson Fire Rescue (EJFR) and Jefferson
General Hospital Cardiac Rehab for the care he received;
• Two citizens commented on the status of “Tent City” and voiced
their opinion re: Jefferson Fairground management; and
• A citizen stated: 1) He is unhappy with the new method of
logging. It’s hard for small logging companies to stay in
business; and 2) The intersection of Highway 104 and State
Route 19 would be a great location for an industrial area.
CONSENT AGENDA: The Board deleted and later approved
Item No. 1 re: Proclamation of National Police Week. The
following items were approved as submitted:
2 AGREEMENTS: 1) Hell Roaring Creek Bridge Repair, Upper
Hoh Road, M.P. 0.16, County Road No. 914207; Combined
Construction, Inc.; and 2) Videographer Services for Quilcene
Complete Streets Project; Frenetic Productions
Payment of Jefferson County Vouchers/Warrants Dated April
27, 2015 Totaling $432,709.50
CONSENT AGENDA ITEM NO. 1: The Board pulled the
Proclamation from the Consent Agenda so they could read it
aloud. The Board approved the Proclamation proclaiming
May 10-16, 2015 as National Police Week and Observe May 15,
2015 as Peace Officer’s Memorial Day.
ADDITIONAL BUSINESS: The Board approved the
reappointment of Tom Thiersch to the Ferry Advisory
Committee; Four (4) Year Term to Expire May 4, 2019.
MINUTES: The Board approved the Special Meeting Minutes of
January 26, 2015.
CLOSED SESSION: The Board held a Closed Session to discuss
Collective Bargaining, Professional Negotiations, Grievance or
Mediation Proceedings.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Board held an Executive Session to
discuss Personnel Hiring/Discipline/Performance Review.
COMMISSIONERS BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners
reported on meetings they attended and upcoming meetings.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR BRIEFING SESSION TOPICS:
The Board discussed the following issues:
• Calendar Coordination.
• The Board approved support of HB 2255 in terms of concept.
