PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of
comments made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and
reflect their personal opinions:
• A citizen urged the Commissioners to sponsor “Tour de
Forts,” an event that supports bicycle programs in Jefferson
County. He requested a covered bike shelter at the
Courthouse;
• A citizen: 1) Stated that the Solid Waste Advisory Committee
(SWAC) toured a recycling facility in Seattle; 2) Thanked
Interim Department of Community Development (DCD)
Director David Goldsmith and County Administrator Philip
Morley for attending a recent Planning Commission
meeting, and 3) Stated that she applied to serve on the
Planning Commission; and
• A citizen voiced concern over a parcel
that was recently logged in Port Ludlow.

COMMISSIONERS’ BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners
reported on their meeting schedules.
APPROVAL of MINUTES: The Commissioners approved the
Regular Meeting minutes of February 15 and 22, 2016 as
presented.
BID OPENING: Two bids were received and read aloud for
Pavement Marking on Jefferson County Roads, Calendar Year
2016, County Project No. 18019940. Public Works staff will
review the bid and submit a recommendation for bid award
to the Board at a future date.
CERTIFICATION: The Commissioners approved and certified
the Annual Inventory of the Capitalized Assets as of
December 31, 2015.
DISCUSSION: Representative Derek Kilmer requested that
Jefferson County submit a list of the County’s highest priority
federal budget requests for fiscal year 2017. The Board
prioritized and approved a list of requests. The County
Administrator will coordinate with the Chair of the Board in
submitting a response to Derek Kilmer’s office.
UPDATE: The Noxious Weed Control Board Coordinator
briefed the Board on the program’s accomplishments and
gave a roadway status report.
UPDATE: The North Olympic Peninsula Resources
Conservation and Development (NOP RC&D) Director
provided a presentation of their 2015 year-end report.
UPDATE: Interim Department of Community Development
(DCD) Director David Goldsmith briefed the Board on a
Washington State Department of Commerce Planning Grant.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR BRIEFING: The Board discussed
various topics with the County Administrator.
