PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of
comments made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and
reflect their personal opinions:
• A citizen stated: 1) Alzheimer’s can be reversed with a proper
diet; and 2) Alternative treatments for cancer are 80%
effective but doctors cannot prescribe medicine not
authorized by the American Medical Association;
• A citizen commented on the Port Ludlow Association (PLA)
timber harvest mediation;
• A citizen urged people to attend the Democratic caucus
March 26, 2016; and
• A citizen commented on the order of the flags on the
flagpole in front of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
CONSENT AGENDA: The Commissioners moved to delete
consent agenda Item No. 1 re: Resolution in the Matter of
Declaration of Emergency Damage to Undie Road, in light of
new information received, and approve the remaining items as
presented:

DISCUSSION: The Board discussed new information received re:
Consent Agenda Item No. 1; Undie Road. It was determined by
the Public Works Director/County Engineer that the road
cannot be saved. After alternate routes and possible funding
sources were discussed, the Board approved RESOLUTION NO.
09-16 Declaration of Emergency Damage to Undie Road.
DISCUSSION: The Board met with the Jefferson County
Treasurer and Assessor to discuss a possible resolution
addressing refunds of property taxes as a result of manifest
errors. After discussion, the Board approved RESOLUTION NO.
10-16.
HEARING: The Board held a hearing re: Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) for 2016 Public Service Grant
Application and Closeout of 2015 Public Services Grant; Olympic
Community Action Program (OLYCAP). After listening to a
presentation by the Director of OlyCAP and hearing public
testimony, the Board approved RESOLUTION NO. 11-16
Certification of Compliance for CDBG Public Services Grant.
COMMISSIONERS’ BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners
reported on their meeting schedules.
MOTION: The Board reviewed requests for supplemental
Hotel/Motel Funding that were reviewed and recommended for
approval by the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). The
Board accepted the expenditure appropriations of lodging tax
funds and to authorize the County Administrator to prepare
contracts and contract amendments.
UPDATE: Washington State Department of Natural Resources
(DNR) staff reviewed the 4th Quarter County Income Report
with the Board.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR BRIEFING: The Board discussed
various topics with the County Administrator.
