PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of
comments made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and
reflect their personal opinions:
• A citizen commented on the valuable contributions made by
Jill Silver while serving on the North Pacific Coast Marine
Resources Committee and encouraged the Board to approve
her reappointment to Committee as listed on the Consent
Agenda;
• A citizen expressed concern about Department of Community
Development processes and suggested an advisory board be
created to allow citizens an opportunity to provide input on
ways to improve the processes;
• A citizen commented on the activities which took place at the
Port Hadlock Block Party this past weekend and stated it was
well attended; and
• Four (4) citizens expressed serious health and safety concerns
about the condition of property located in Brinnon and asked
the Board for assistance in dealing with the issue.
CONSENT AGENDA: The Board approved the following
Consent Agenda items as submitted:
AGREEMENT re: Housing for Department of Corrections (DOC)
Offenders; In the amount of $71.59 per day with an estimated
total per year of $15,000; Washington State Department of
Corrections
Advisory Board Reappointment re: Jill Silver to serve a two (2)
year term expiring August 8, 2018 as the Conservation/
Environmental Groups Representative on the North Pacific
Coast Marine Resources Committee
Payment of Jefferson County Vouchers/Warrants Dated
August 1, 2016 Totaling $2,774.88
COMMISSIONERS’ BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners
reported on their meeting schedules.
HEARING: After hearing public testimony, the Board approved
Ordinance No. 02-0808-16 Repealing and Replacing Ordinance
No. 08-0806-12 Finalizing the Assessment System for the Port
Ludlow Drainage District
PRESENTATION: After a presentation by Public Health staff,
the Board approved Resolution No. 33-16 regarding an
application for grant assistance to the Recreation and
Conservation Office, Salmon Recovery Funding Board, for the
Lower Big Quilcene Floodplain Acquisition Project – RCO 16-
1480
EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Board held an executive session to
discuss potential litigation.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR BRIEFING SESSION: The Board
discussed various topics with the County Administrator.
