PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of
comments made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and
reflect their personal opinions:
• A citizen urged the Commissioners to express opposition to
the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline for the
transportation of Bakken Crude Oil; and
• A citizen stated she is on the Sheriff’s Citizen Advisory
Committee and thanked the Board for formalizing it. She
noted the importance of government and citizen interaction.

APPROVAL of MINUTES: The Board approved the Regular
Meeting minutes of September 12, 2016
BRIEFING: The Sheriff met with the Commissioners to discuss
the formalization of the Sheriff’s Citizen Advisory Committee.
After discussion, the Board approved RESOLUTION NO. 39-16.
COMMISSIONERS’ BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners
reported on their meeting schedules.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Board held an Executive Session to
discuss potential litigation.
CLOSED SESSION: The Board held a Closed Session to discuss
strategy or position for collective bargaining, professional
negotiations, or grievance or mediation proceedings.
PROCLAMATION: The Board read aloud and approved a
proclamation proclaiming the week of October 3, 2016 as
Mental Illness Awareness Week.
MEETING CANCELLATION: The Board approved cancelling the
Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) Regular Meeting
scheduled for October 3, 2016.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR BRIEFING: The Board discussed
various topics with the County Administrator.
