HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-28-16 PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of comments made by citizens in attendance at the meeting and reflect their personal opinions: • A citizen stated: 1) His opinion on President-Elect Donald Trump’s cabinet choices; 2) He attended a Cascadia meeting; and 3) Jefferson County appears to be doing a reasonable job; • A citizen congratulated Madam Chair Kler for receiving The Leader’s People’s Choice Award for “Best Elected Official;” • A citizen: 1) Reported on the recent rally held at the Haller Fountain steps regarding President-Elect Donald Trump; and 2) Requested that Jefferson County create and approve a proclamation that reflects a speech recently made by the Mayor of New York City; and • A citizen commented on earthquakes and the devastation one could have on Port Townsend and our County. He gave statistics of an earthquake in New Zealand. CONSENT AGENDA: The Board approved the items on the Consent Agenda as presented: 4 AGREEMENTS: 1) Emergency Management Director; Lynn Sterbenz; 2) AGREEMENT, Change Order No. 3 re: Undie Road Surfacing Project No. 18020070; Interwest Construction, Inc.; 3) Undie Road Bypass; DNR FR-F 4200 and 4210 Road Surfacing, Project No. 18020070; Interwest Construction, Inc.; and 4) 2016 Community Services Grant Funding; Jefferson County Fair Association Allocation Request re: Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Funding for 2017; Jefferson County 1/10th of 1% Funds, (Hargrove Funds); $433,265.71 Appointment to Fill a vacancy on the Port Ludlow Drainage District Governing Body; Donald E. Forbes to Serve the Remainder of a Six (6) Year Term Until the Next Special District General Election in February, 2018 Payment of Jefferson County Vouchers/Warrants Dated November 21, 2016 Totaling $763,661.44 Payment of Jefferson County Payroll Warrants Dated November 18, 2016 Totaling $63,686.70 and A/P Warrants Done by Payroll Dated November 18, 2016 Totaling $18,780.70 COMMISSIONERS’ BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners reported on their meeting schedules. UPDATE: Staff from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources briefed the Board on the 3rd Quarter County Income Report. EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Board held an Executive Session to discuss potential litigation. CLOSED SESSION: The Board held a Closed Session to discuss Strategy or Position for Collective Bargaining, Professional Negotiations, or Grievance or Mediation Proceedings.
